It’s A Shore Thing

Maybe it’s because I grew up in Maryland where seafood is defined by steamed Crabs smothered in delicious Old Bay Seasoning but, I’m lukewarm towards Shmitty’s.  At least that’s what the locals call The Clam Bar at Smith’s Marina or Smitty’s at Somers Point, New Jersey.

Whatever you call it, the Clam Bar is a no frills seafood dive that’s loved by many including Jacob who has been coming here since he was 3. 
He loves the New England clam chowder thay we usually order along with the fried oysters, clam strips and raw clams…

I do like the location and the atmosphere is always lively but it’s almost always crowded and tonight was no different.  But do we wait? Nope!  Grab a seat at the bar and skip the 2hrs wait plus, who wants to sit inside when you’re Bayside at the Shore?
