I Rarely Get Giddy
I don’t even like the word but people, I’m giddy!
Wanna know why?
Just got word that one of my Instagram food pics was featured in a MyFab5 article, Philadelphia’s 25 Most Instagrammed Restaurants of 2014. See #23, that Moi! Me!
I clearly remember that night which is unusual for me b/c I eat out a lot and have the memory of a tween being interrogated about his school-day. Yes, I’m talking about someone that I know!
Phil and I were out on the town and decided to end our night at Smith & Wollensky. We sat at the bar as we normally do, ordered a round of drinks, and the awesomely delicious and famously ginormous carrot cake. It is the only carrot cake that I like. The very idea of a carrot cake doesn’t really appeal to me but there is something very special about their carrot-to-cake-to-tangy creamy icing ratio that makes me very happy. Or, did. That was the night we learned that S&W no longer offers carrot cake, one of their most popular dishes according to our bartender.
Hmm, OK good move S&W, sounds like a great business decision and perhaps, the reason you’re closing your Rittenhouse Square location doors this Summer.
Not one to dwell, we cancel our order and set out to find the next best carrot cake in Philadelphia because while I don’t dwell, I do need my dessert fix. On our way out we run into a neighbor b/c if you’re single and live in center city, S&W is where you end your night. They direct us to Ocean Prime and the rest as they say is history.
Everything happens for a reason my friends and had it not been for the events of the night of August 26, (I know you’re amazed by my level of details) I would not have taken this awesome Instagram shot of this beautiful Carrot Cake and wouldn’t be featured in this great this article.
If this is what super stardom feels like than I love it!!!
