It Had To Be Them!

I’m a bit behind on our Sunday festivities so here goes…
Just as we were concluding our spectacular Rainbow Room brunch, we were presented with an envelope that contained the clues to our next destination!

As we made our way to the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and joined the line that wrapped around the corner, my feet were starting to throb…yes, I wore my new Louboutins and yes, I walked 8 blocks in them and so, I felt deserving of a rest stop.
We posed with the gushing groom and groom.


And entered completely unprepared but excited for what was to come.
Now, we’re a cultured duo but not necessarily musical theater types.  We are however, all about the shtick and if you know what that word even means than you too will love It Shoulda Been You!
The musical comedy, directed by Emmy and Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce (remember Frasier’s brother?), is star-studded (remember Frasier’s manager?), clever and laugh out loud hysterical.

If the guy on the far right looks familiar than you’re a musical theater type cause it’s David Bourka, husband to Neil Patrick Harris.  He was not in Sunday’s performance but he did sit right next to us and laughed just like the rest of us.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the theatre and the plot twists and turns kept coming until the end…literally.
The critics unfortunately weren’t as kind to it and so, it closes August 9th but even still, I’m not going to spoil it for you in case you get the opportunity to catch it.  One clue, it was perfectly fitting for the occasion especially, when our hosts got invited to dance the Hora with the cast in the final act!


But when the curtain closed, the real show began and our friends, who have been together for nearly 18 years, finally got to say I DO!



It was one of the most moving and memorable weddings I’ve ever witnessed all concluded at their fabulous PH overlooking the city of Manhattan with champagne by Dom and cake by Ron Ben-Israel…


The Knot presented the happy couple with matching blue flower lapels.

And we presented them with a donation to what else? The Human Fund!
