celebration National Pretzel Day with homemade soft pretzels

DYK it’s National Pretzel Day?

What better way to celebrate National Pretzel Day than with homemade soft pretzels? Thanks Sally’s Baking Addiction for this 30 Minute Homemade Soft Pretzels recipe.

As promised, it was super simple & delish & just the thing to do on this gloomy quarantine Sunday. More on my IG @AlyaBuzz

Considered to be one of the oldest surviving snacks in the world, the humble but delicious pretzel is thought to have originated in Europe, possibly created by monks in monasteries. Today, I was one part monk & one part Salt Bae…

5 Simple Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups (360ml) warm water (lukewarm, no need to take temperature)
  • 1 packet active dry or instant yeast (2 and 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon (8g) granulated sugar
  • 3 and 3/4 – 4 and 1/2 cups (480-530g) all-purpose flour + more for work surface (or mix of whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour) (spoon & leveled)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

I need to work on my pretzel rolling technique but pretty happy with how they turned out!

All I need now is a cold beer…

Give it a try, your whole family with love them!!!

Talk to me, I would love to hear from you!
