The Met Gala

is all fun and games until you disobey Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
This year, Anna (yes, we’re on a first name basis) implemented a strict no selfie policy at the event which is one of the reasons why I RSVPied “Thanks but no Thanks.”  The other reason being that I wasn’t really invited but that’s just a minor detail.
Appearantly, I’m not the only one lacking #selfie control.  Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Madonna, and Justin Bieber just couldn’t help snapping shots Monday night to keep their Instagram game strong.

As per a Vogue insider, “Anna is very aware of all the celebrities who ignored her request.”
“She does not know what she’s going to do yet but she’s deciding.” Another source claims Anna recommends the celebs take the photos down in the next 24 hours, or they may not be invited back next year.  If I were her, I would be more focused on taking down pictures of herself in this Chanel fail instead of worrying about the others selfie shenanigans.  Is this any way for the E-I-C of Vogue to dress?

Following the gala, Anna stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers and took a chance to critique some of the outfits from Monday’s Met Gala.
Now you’re talking!
Huge stars including Beyonce and Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry hit New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 2015 China: Through the Looking Glass-themed affair.  Wintour had a lot to say to Seth about other celebs’ getups including one of the most talked-about looks of the evening, Rihanna’s…

The singer certainly stole the show in this bright-colored dress with an oversized train. “I really want to tell you about this dress,” Wintour told Meyers of the gown. “Rihanna is such a star. She surfed the Internet looking for this and this was designed by a famous, famous Chinese designer Guo Pei. It apparently took one Chinese person two years to make this dress. It’s a dress not to forget.”  Good to hear we’re supporting the Chinese economy, let’s just hope that this “person” wasn’t a child working to feed their family.

Speaking of feeding, how yummy does this look?

Wintour went on to touch on other stars, explaining that George Clooney could’ve worn whatever he wanted to the Met Gala because “he has Amal on his arm and he’s George Clooney — he doesn’t have to wear anything.”

Considering that this is fashion’s biggest night out, I was unimpressed with the majority of what I saw but, if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be J. Lo who gave Kim Kardashian a run for her money in this gorgeous, Dragon-embroidered Versace gown…

All wasn’t lost for the Kardashian clan, at least they got a Christmas card out of the night!
