Sunday High-five
Sunday is a good day to pause and reflect on all of the stuff going on in our lives or, at least, the week that was.
For most of us, there was and always is a lot!
From milestone celebrations…
to leisurely yet memorable family outings…
We are all busy…often too busy to hit the pause button.
Good or bad, I’ve learned that all things happen for a reason and often, lead us down the path we were destined for.
Don’t mean to get all Buddha on you especially, as I’m still recovering from last night’s thrilling school auction…
but, as I lay here perusing social media and admiring pictures of friends and their families it got me wondering. How did we all get to where we are today and what would’ve happened had we/I not opened ourselves to new opportunities and people? Where would we be if we came from a place of NO?
Many unfortunately do and I personally tend to steer clear of those individuals and surround myself with positive, happy people who aren’t afraid to take chances, open their minds and just say YES.
Think about it. Where would you be had you not taken that job…the one that at the time was not ideal and seemed like a temporary solution but, turned into a thriving career? Or, not gone to that party because it was a schlep but then met the guy who would later become your husband and best friend? For me, what would have happened had I not been open to exploring adoption when all other means to having a baby failed?
That pivotal moment…
That scary yet exciting first…
That final decision…
See where my mind always goes? To this guy!
Just pausing and thinking about how grateful I am and dare say, how proud I am of myself.
Yes, myself!
When was the last time you recognized yourself? Given yourself a high-five, a pat on the back or, just a good job for all of the awesome things that you’ve accomplished?
Everyone needs that once in a while and today, I’m giving it to myself.
From the little things like sticking with my personal commitment to AlyaBuzz and fulfilling my passion for writing and photography. To huge, big and very important things like my amazing family.
What are you most proud of? I know there’s a lot so go ahead, you deserve it. Give credit where credit is due and not wait for others recognition of it.
Here’s my high-five this morning, I know, it all leads to food but whatever…
What’s yours?
And while I’m at it, wanted to thank you guys. I really enjoy AlyaBuzz and would love it if you would continue to read and engage with it through shares and comments!
Have a great day and High-five to a great week!
