Stuffed Turkey Cheeseburgers
No need to wait till Thanksgiving to enjoy stuffed Turkey…burgers that is.
Got this recipe from Food.com and, with a few minor modifications, served up some kickass turkey cheeseburgers to my hungry men!
We had planned on making these over the weekend on a ‘real’ grill but never got to it so, I brought them home and grilled them up on the George Forman. Have I mentioned just how much I love our Foreman grill? So much so that we’re on our 4th one!
I liked this recipe for its simple ingredients and used most of the below (indicated below) but with a twist adding lots of shredded cheddar cheese that I stuffed into the patty.
Super easy and makes 6 servings so give it a go:
1 lb ground turkey
1⁄2 cup dry breadcrumbs (watching our carbs so I didn’t use)
3 tablespoons onions, minced (garlic was enough so I didn’t use)
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon lemon juice (didn’t use)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1⁄4 teaspoon paprika (didn’t use)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1⁄4 teaspoon liquid red pepper (what the heck is this…didn’t use)
seasoning (optional)
black pepper, to taste (didn’t use)
6 hamburger buns, to serve (I cut and toasted the buns in the oven)
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in large bowl.
Shape into 6 patties.
Make holes in the center of the patty and sprinkle in the cheese.
Close the patty trapping the cheese inside.
Pan-fry, broil, or grill until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.
Serve in hamburger buns with desired toppings.
I used tomatoes and marinated hot peppers…
Other toppings to include: lettuce, onion, pickles, ketchup, and fat-free/light mayo.
Try it and let me know how you like my stuffed cheeseburgers!
