My Favorite Week
Of the year has become the last week of August. Well, technically now the first week of September but you get the point.
It’s one of the few times of the year when I get to spend one on one time with this silly kid at the beach.
It has become our tradition and I think that even Jacob looks forward to it.
Yesterday we kicked off the Mama-Son week with an evening swim in the ocean…yes I swam and killed him at a game of water gum terminator!
While it appears as if he’s sunning, this is him feeling defeated…excellent!
We changed for dinner and drove around the island in the convertible as we usually do talking about friends and school and life in general. He told me many wonderful things many of which I probably won’t remember but, what I will never forget is how I felt when he told me that he loved me and really enjoys our time together. I couldn’t have been happier!
We had a healthy yummy dinner at Junior’s Doughnuts and Hot dogs eating well…hot dogs and doughnuts.
He asked me what it’s like being 40 and when I corrected him (I’m 40+), he responded…but you look 20! Only a son 😉
We drove some more and ended the evening stocking up on candy, lots of candy for the week.
We ate most of it watching and laughing to reruns of SNL and reading Guinness World Records 2015.
I was in heaven and to say that I feel like the luckiest person on earth would be an understatement.
To admit that none of this would have happened had we not taken his iPad away that morning…that is for certain!
Would love to hear what family traditions you have and how you bond with your kiddies?
Can’t wait for the rest of the week!
Love
