Mussels with Mama
My grandmother is remarkable. At 84, she handled knee surgery like a pro and already doing PT and looking forward to going to the salon. While she recovers, my mom and I decided to take a mini culinary tour of Baltimore and go to a few of her favorite spots. For me, it felt like I was seeing the city that I called home for so many years for the first time. First stop, the new and improved Fells Point and Mussel Bar & Grille for what else? Mussels, oysters, rose and beer. The oysters were just ok but the mussels were delicious and come in 5 different broth options. We ordered the Kennet Square and the Mediterranean, both delicious and come with classic frites.
We then checked out RA Sushi next door, their happy hour sounded awesome…next time ? for sure!
Next stop, Cunningham’s Café & Bakery in my old stomping grounds, Towson for a little dessert action. This strawberry and honey ricotta gateau was as delicious as it was pretty and I definitely need to return to savor the rest of their menu.Well that was it…for now ? #yummy
