Making the Most of Spring Break
Spring break is here and I wish I could say that we have enough time to do something awesome but the truth is, it’s only 5 days if you count the weekend which leaves us with very few options. Lucky for us living on the east coast, we have immediate access to great cities like New York and Washington, DC.
Lucky for me, my parents still live in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. A city that’s right smack dab in the middle of it all so naturally, that is where we begin our journey.
No trip home would be complete without some good eating and nothing says good eating like a Russian breakfast of red caviar with blinis…
Well fed and rested, we debated between going to the zoo or, the aquarium and opted for the latter. If you’re looking for a fun and educational family activity and haven’t been to Baltimore’s National Aquarium then this should be on top of your list.
Between school field trips and family outings, I spent many a days here while growing up in Baltimore. Glad to see that they’ve kept up with the times and the aquarium looks better than ever…
Waiting to get soaked at the Dolphin Discovery Exhibit…
The beautiful glass jellyfish display hanging over the aquarium cafe…
All in all a great start to Spring Break; a successful visit with the babushkas, dedushkas and pra-babushkas, and a delicious family dinner at our fave sushi spot, The Orient on York Road in Towson.
Best of all, quality and priceless Mama-Son time!!!
Wishing you all a Happy & Fun Spring Break!!!
