It’s Memorial Day Weekend
the official start to the NJ shore season, and the perfect time to get the house ready for the summer. Today, we tackled the landscaping and lucky for us, most of last year’s planting survived. A little extra TLC and we managed to spruce up the front yard to the best it has ever looked in 7 summers that we’ve been here…
I had the Buddha head hiding under the maple tree in the back last year but think that it looks better where you can really see it, nestled under the evergreen…
Plus, I decided to plant a mini herb garden in the backyard where the Buddha used to rest…
Can’t wait for the basil, mint, rosemary and thyme to mature…I can taste the mojitos already!
So, here’s what we started with after pulling out the dead grass in the front yard…
And here’s the final product…
Had my eye on these Scotch Broom-Cytisus scoparius ‘Burkwoodii’ Blooms
shrubs last year and really happy with how they now look against the house…
What do you think?
Would love suggestions and happy Memorial day weekend!
