Happy National Cat Day

Happy to report that after 4 failed attempts at cat ownership, we’ve settled nicely into life with Cleo.
She has stolen our hearts and taken over our life and when she’s not following Jacob around like a puppy, she loves to nap on top of my neck.

If you have a feline friend then naturally, you want to shower them with love and affection.
If you don’t and really want one, #Uber…once again…to the rescue.

In its third year, the UberKITTENS project works with various shelters throughout the country to give people a chance to hang out with cool cats in need of foreverhomes.  The ride-sharing company has already placed 30 kittens since the project began and here’s how #UberKittens works.  After requesting the “kittens” option in the app, you’ll pay a $30 “snuggle fee” which helps support the shelters. Participants will then get 15 minutes of kitten playtime.  Most shelters prefer to work with offices, so for those of you who are stuck in a cubicle all day, this could be an ideal way to spend your coffee break.  I just tried it and here is the message I got so it may not be as easy as hailing an Uber but a great idea nonetheless!

As for me, I’m going to celebrate by taking a well deserved cat nap.
