Family Fun in NYC
Looking for a fun family activity while in New York? I highly recommend the Central Park Zoo especially, if the weather cooperates!
Once in, check the schedule and make sure you don’t miss the Sea Lion feedings, they’re very cute and extremely entertaining!
Not to mention, they love to Photo bomb…
Before heading into Central Park however, make sure you power up cause there’s a lot to see and do and chances are you’ll spend the entire afternoon meandering through the hills and tunnels. We started the day with a delicious Persian non-Passover breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien…
Checked out the great architecture as we crossed over into the park (please, don’t forget to look up). Here, and all throughout this awesome city, old and historical meets new and modern…
Then head in and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the 843-acre masterpiece of landscape architecture designed in the 19th century by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux.
Designated New York City’s first scenic landmark in 1974, Central Park is one of America’s greatest works of art and the nation’s first public park.
Central Park has become the most famous and beloved urban park in the world and in the heart of it all is the Central Park Zoo. Just having been to the San Diego Zoo, I wasn’t too psyched about another zoo experience but I have to say, it was pretty great.
The Central Park Zoo is fairly small in size so it won’t take hours to cover like the SD zoo but, has plenty to see and do from these adorable penguins and ducks…
To the Bird Sanctuary and Bears…
And finally, the Tisch Children’s Zoo which is also a petting zoo…
A word of caution, if you buy the regular admission tix and leave the main zoo to pet and feed the animals, you can’t return so get your fill and then head out.
When at the Tisch, buy some food out of the vending machines scattered throughout and get to work…
It shouldn’t take you more than a few hours to do it all and the experience will leave you and the kiddies very happy and just a little hungry.
We headed over to the Nespresso cafe on Madison for what I thought was one of the most delicious coffee milkshakes I’ve ever had…
And naturally, a shot of espresso at the back bar…
Refreshed and rejuvenated, we made our way down Madison Ave. and through Barneys for me 🙂 over to 5th and FAO Schwartz for the boy 😂 and then to a friend’s new PH pad for dinner and…
These awe-inspiring Panoramic views of New York and New Jersey…
It’s great to have friends in high places…literally!
