my handsome husband in DC
at Rasika, probably the best Indian food outside of India and London.
We started with Palak Chaat, crispy baby spinach / yogurt / tamarind / dates…a must!
Wild Mushroom Uttapam, rice and lentil pancakes / beetroot chutney
and Parsi Lamb Cutlet, spicy lamb mince / garlic fries / tomato sauce
Although we could have stopped right there and then, we didn’t and also ordered the
Dum Ki Biryani, aromatic lamb / basmati rice / saffron / raita...
shared the Naan Bread Basket, onion sage naan / garlic naan…
Dal Dhungaree, smoked lentils / garlic / tomatoes / fenugreek…
and the Gobhi Mattar, cauliflower / green peas / cumin / ginger…
Everything was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend this place except and, there is always an except…
We had 9:45 reservations because they claimed to be fully booked but, when we got there, the restaurant was half empty!
Hate that!
