Celebrating Spring
It’s official, Spring is here and by the action outside my window, it’s gonna be a crazy one!
The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival has taken over and it’s literally raining underwear on Walnut Street…on that later.
So how do we city dwellers take in a festival that draws over 50,000 people from around the region in a mere 5hrs. and 5 blocks in the center of Philadelphia?
We dress nice but not like too nice cause we don’t really care cause this type of thing happened like all the time…
and make the mandatory appearance, say hello to people we see like every day, complain about the masses, strollers, and slow walkers and quickly exist left.
I mean, can you even imagine the mahem? No and you don’t need to, that’s what I’m here for…
The Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival takes over Walnut Street (between Broad and 19th streets) for the day to showcase the neighborhood’s fantastic food, fashion, arts and entertainment.
More than 40 restaurants set up shop along the sidewalks of Walnut Street to serve up samples of spring fare. Beyond the eats, there’s also lots of live music, free wine tastings, shopping and more. For example, while exchanging pleasantries with friends, Jack Willis who had a DJ spinning tunes off of their 2 story shop, started dropping hot pink and neon green undies to the crowds below, here are mine 😆
DJ on the 2nd floor was very cool I have to admit but, not as cool as my new party panties!
Missed it?
Oh well, there’s always next year or here’s an idea, just go to the the restaurant and/or store and enjoy it like a civilized human being!
Sorry, having a sarcastic sort of Saturday but really, the city is not that scary even if we do have grown men walking around dressed as pirates!
Argh…
